TEXT: 2 Kings 7: 3-7
Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate. They said to one another, “Why do we sit here until we die?
If we say, ‘We will enter into the city,’ then the famine is in the city, and we will die there. If we sit still here, we also die. Now therefore come, and let’s surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they save us alive, we will live; and if they kill us, we will only die.”
They rose up in the twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians. When they had come to the outermost part of the camp of the Syrians, behold, no man was there.
For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear the sound of chariots and the sound of horses, even the noise of a great army; and they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us.”
Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, their horses, and their donkeys, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
MY UNDERSTANDING
There was famine throughout Samaria and these lepers were very hungry. They had the choice of staying in Samaria or taking the risk of going to Syria hoping to find something to eat. They risked being killed in Syria where there were their enemies but instead of staying put, they chose to advance.
So I understand that I should not start a business only when all the conditions are met or when I have the guarantee that it will work based on the fact that I have seen others succeed in this sector. activity. During this famine, these lepers had never heard that a person went to the Syrians camp and came back alive. They went there without any guarantees.
My only guarantee is my good communion with God that I must make sure to always keep while trying to always follow the straight and non-tortuous paths. When in my soul and conscience I am at peace with God, I can start a business where some have failed. At peace with God, I can take the risk of starting a business when I don't have enough money yet, I start with the little I have. In peace with God, I can even offer my products and services to people who are used to demanding homosexuality or retrocommissions in exchange for the market they will give me. Since I am at peace with God, it will certainly touch their hearts and they will not demand this practice which does not honor God. In short, as the Lord created trouble in the camp of the Syrians in favor of lepers, God can also touch the hearts of my enemies. When the LORD approves of a man's ways, He favors even his enemies toward him. (Proverbs, 16: 7) I therefore have no reason to feel sorry for my fate, I must move forward in taking risks and God will certainly intervene.
In the name of Jesus, I pray that God will grant us the grace to take risks when necessary.
The useless servant (Luke 17:10)
